May 18, 2013 - 11th Annual Corporate Sports Tournament benefiting the Starlight Children’s Quebec Foundation, The Shriners Hospital for Children, and FitSpirit.

Montreal, Quebec - The Games for Hope Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its 11th Annual Tarkett Sports Corporate Sports Tournament and its 2013 fundraising campaign benefiting three deserving benefactors this year:

• The Starlight Children’s Foundation - Quebec
• The Shriners Hospital for Children - Canada
• FitSpirit

Having raised approximately $710,000 in Net Proceeds since our inception in 2001, we are excited and encouraged to have the chance to surpass the $1 million dollar raised mark after this year’s campaign. With our 2013 fundraising goal of $300,000, we will be on track to have accumulated the magic milestone of $1 million dollars.... As usual, a 100% of the net proceeds from this year’s event will be earmarked to help our three important causes. Thanks again to all of the event's sponsors and to the 65 teams, 150 volunteers, and approximately 1000 people who participated in last year’s fabulous event held at the Olympic Stadium. This amazing event raised a record $225,000 in 2012 for two wonderful causes: The Starlight Children’s Foundation Quebec and the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

While we have two new benefactors this year (the Shriners Hospital for Children and FitSpirit), we are delighted to continue our support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation for a third year running. Due to the wonderful work being done across the province and within all the major children’s hospitals across Quebec, the decision by the Board of Directors of the Games for Hope Foundation to continue our support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation this year was an easy one. This year’s event will take place at the Complexe Bell in Brossard on Saturday May 18th, 2013. Once again, this year we will be expanding the sports offerings to include not only volleyball, soccer, basketball, and ball hockey, but we have now added a 5th sport - ice hockey – to be played on the actual surface used by the famed Montreal Canadiens at their Brossard practice facility. With key participation from our numerous food, fun and security partners, this event is truly a family affair.
